About me

Luba Paskova holds a private piano studio in Salisbury, MD, and works as a part-time professor at Salisbury University teaching lab class piano and applied piano as a secondary instrument to all majors.

Ms. Paskova received her Bachelor of Music Degree from the Music Teacher’s Training College in Saint-Petersburg, Russia, and her Masters Degree in Music from Saint-Petersburg Academy of the Arts where she studied piano with Tatiana Lupikina.  Mrs. Paskova has taught piano, solfeggio, and theory at the Academy of Arts Extension Service in St. Petersburg, and at the Private School of the Arts in St. Petersburg. She  began teaching in 2000 at the Salisbury Music Center where she was working until December 2006.

In December 2001, Luba was appointed acting chairperson of the Salisbury Center for National Piano Guild Auditions. In 2006 she was accepted on the board of Judges for National Guild of Piano Teachers. She toured Princeton and Lakewood Centers in New Jersey, Seaford Center in Delaware, Manhattan in NY, College Park and Frederic in MD as a Guild Adjudicator.

Mrs. Paskova compiled and organized the annual recital of Celebration of Great Composers for local piano students that is sponsored and held at SU. The series originated as a way to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Mozart’s birth in 2006. Luba along with support of other local piano teachers continues the tradition. In the past the concerts featured music of Bach, Beethoven, Schumann, Chopin and Liszt. In early spring of 2012 The Great Composers recital will acknowledge piano works of Petr Tchaikovsky.

In the past she gave charity performances at Salisbury University and March of Dimes, participated in local radio station Celebration of Music concert, which showcases classical musicians on the Eastern Shore; held a solo concert focusing on Viennese Classics and Russian Romantic music.

During the summer 2011 Luba attended and performed in Music Improvisation Camp at Teacher College Columbia University, Manhattan.

Luba successfully coaches all levels and ages, from beginning children and adults, to very advanced young pianists. Her students demonstrate solid technical and musical skills. Being an active performer herself, she motivates her students to participate in University Music Department recitals, National Piano Guild Auditions, MTNA competitions and other different musical venues.
